Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 May 2026
These terms describe the deal between you and Smart Syllabus Assistant. Please read them. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
1. What we provide
Smart Syllabus Assistant is an AI-assisted curriculum and lesson planning tool for NSW secondary school teachers. We generate scopes, sequences and lesson plans aligned to the NSW syllabus and Australian Curriculum.
We are operated by Limes Digital Solutions, an Australian sole-trader business based in NSW.
2. Your account
You need to provide a valid email address and choose a password to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens on your account.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Teachers signing up on behalf of a school are warranting that they are authorised to do so.
3. Trial and subscription
New teacher accounts include a 14-day free trial with full access. We collect your card details at signup. We do not charge you during the 14 days. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, we will charge the published monthly subscription rate to your card and continue to charge it each month until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time from inside the app via the billing portal. There are no refunds for partial months. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Existing free-tier users from before 30 May 2026 keep their original allowance (one scope and three lesson plans). New signups do not have a permanent free tier.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service. That includes not attempting to break the platform, not uploading content you do not have permission to share, not reverse engineering the system, and not using the service to do anything illegal.
You also agree not to upload personally identifiable information about students. The learner profile feature is designed for anonymised descriptions only.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you create with the service — your scopes, lesson plans, learner profiles, syllabus uploads. We do not claim rights over your work.
You grant us a limited licence to store, display and process your content as needed to provide the service to you. We use AI models to generate planning content from your inputs; outputs are yours to edit, share and use.
6. Our content
The service itself — the software, the prompts, the design, the branding — is owned by Limes Digital Solutions. You can use the service per these terms, but you do not gain ownership of the platform.
7. Privacy
How we collect, use and protect your data is described in our privacy policy. In short: we store the minimum needed to provide the service, we do not sell your data, and you can export or delete your data on request.
8. Service availability
We aim for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may need to take the platform offline for maintenance or to address security or performance issues. We will not be liable to you for downtime.
9. AI output is a starting point
The lesson plans, scopes and other planning materials the platform generates are intended as drafts. You are the teacher. You are responsible for reviewing, adapting and applying anything the platform produces before using it in your classroom.
We work hard on curriculum alignment but we do not warrant that every generated output is perfect or fit for every context. Use your professional judgement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages.
Nothing in these terms excludes any consumer guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Termination
You can stop using the service at any time by cancelling your subscription and closing your account. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice in the app. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect counts as acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute will be heard in the courts of New South Wales.
